Home Learning This Week

Our Home Learning Task this week is another writing seed. Bring your idea/photo or drawing ready to write about on Tuesday!

Writing Seed - CHALLENGE

Due Date: Tuesday 8th April

Pick a challenging moment. It might be from Sports Spectacular, when you did something adventurous but hard this term, a challenge you did at home, in the weekend or the holidays. Maybe it was starting a new school, a new sport, after school activity or a Minecraft construction.

You need to draw or find a picture of that moment.

We will unpack the idea (seed) in writing on Tuesday morning.

Multicoloured Mayhem Day in Rm 3

On Friday we celebrated multi-coloured mayhem day by dressing up in as many different colours as we could. We had a discussion about what makes us all different by looking at this acrostic poem.

Always
Unique
Totally
Interesting
Sometimes
Mysterious

We decided it's pretty cool that we all have different ideas, thoughts and opinions. In fact when we are all A+ accepting we can make a pretty good team too!

Challenge - in the water!

Last weekend, I took on a new challenge and swam the 1km Akaroa Ocean Swim! It was a challenge for me because I'd never done an ocean swim before and it was a long way - about 40laps of the Southbridge Pool!

Afterwards I felt proud that I completed the challenge and so did my three friends who did it also. We all did it faster or slower than each other but we were happy to complete the challenge most of all! Anna's mum Karen also competed and did very well.

Three days later, Room 3 took on their own swimming challenge: The Middle/Senior School Swimming Sports at Southbridge Pool. This was the first time for everyone in Room 3 and I was very proud of how everyone rose to the challenge!!

Alex, Ben, Anna and Sonya did very well in their competitive races and the rest of room 3 enjoyed the experience!

Leave a comment and tell me what you liked about swimming sports? What challenge did you overcome?
