We leaving a comment, pick the Name/URL option so we can show off our blog too. It might look like this:
We have been a bit behind on our student blogging challenge this last week or so. However we have been working on making comments, reading the blogs during read to self and we just love getting comments from other bloggers! We watched a short video - Whaea Alice found on another blog (Thanks openthedoortob4) that explained how to make a good comment really nicely...
and these are the notes we took:
Student Blogging Challenge Week 2:
Activity 1 Adding widgets
- To tell people about your area – check out the widgetbox for weather, news and clocks
- Tracking your visitors – Sue Waters from Edublogs has included in the user guide lots of widgets to add.
- Translate your page in case readers do not speak your language.
Activity 3. If I were to visit your state or province, what would be the ‘must see’ places and why?
Still got time left this week:
- Visit other student and class blogs and read the about pages. Leave quality comments.
- Check out these maths challenges from Ms Hutchison’s class.

Week 1: Introducing me
What is Netiquette?
We made our own list of rules to live by when using the internet. Just like in the classroom we have to behave appropriately, be accepting, respectful and well-mannered on the internet!
We used another BrainPop video to help us get started, called digital etiquette.
What is a blog?
In Room 3, we are working on using our ICT equipment (iPads and laptops) to create and communicate our learning.
Our work will be shared on our WOW work page and we will be learning how to write blog posts and make good comments.
Here's a good video explaining exactly what a 'blog' is: What is a blog?
We will learn about internet safety also. We will be using some of the lessons from Hector's World to do this.
